Legal guidance for people who need it most. With counsel by your side.

Delivering attorney-led legal services that are integrated and designed to meet people where they are.

About

Legal barriers don't announce themselves.

Nebraska WithCounsel assists people who would otherwise face the legal system alone. Together, through attorney-led support and guidance, we remove barriers, restore dignity, and help each person move forward with confidence.

Nebraska WithCounsel is a new legal services initiative grounded in the belief that unresolved civil legal issues are a hidden barrier to stability, and that legal help works best when it reaches people through relationship they already trust.

Services

What we bring to your site

Our services meet clients where they are, and they work best when paired with the trust partners have already built. Clients deserve legal guidance integrated into the services they already receive, not a separate system they have to navigate alone.

WithCounsel Walk-in

Adds a low-barrier way for clients to get a legal question answered without a referral or a wait. A legal professional listens, helps the person make sense of their circumstances, and explains their options, within the support the client is already receiving.

Best for: Someone with a preliminary question who isn't ready to file, or who can largely represent themselves and needs occasional guidance.

WithCounsel Strategy Session

Gives partner staff a next step when a client's situation turns out to be more complex than expected. A legal professional and the client review their full civil legal landscape together, identifying open cases, naming goals, and building a plan, so staff can keep supporting the client with a clearer picture of what's ahead.

Best for: Someone at a transition point who may not know the full scope of their legal situation and needs help understanding it before deciding how or whether to act.

WithCounsel Workshop

Extends a program's support into the client's legal case itself. Structured education paired with one-on-one coaching helps clients who are pursuing or have filed a case represent themselves effectively, without leaving the support system they already know.

Best for: Someone who is ready to file or has already filed, wants to represent themselves, and needs ongoing guidance from a legal professional to do so successfully.

Partnership

Built to work alongside existing programs

WithCounsel services are intended to complement the work of community-based organizations, not replace or compete with it. We embed legal services in spaces where people already go for support, so legal help is accessible without requiring them to navigate a separate system.

We are built to work alongside an organization's own staff. Staff are often the first to recognize when a client's situation has a legal dimension, and they can make a warm handoff directly to WithCounsel, sharing helpful background so the client is not starting over. Clients are also free to come to us on their own.
