A way forward, with counsel.

Nebraska WithCounsel brings attorney-led civil legal services to community organizations across the Omaha area, so the people they serve can get legal help at no cost, alongside the support they already receive.

Looking for legal help for yourself? WithCounsel serves people through our partner organizations and cannot accept individual requests. Legal Aid of Nebraska or 211 can help you find the right resource.

About

Legal barriers don't announce themselves.

Together with our partners, we remove barriers, restore dignity, and help each person move forward with confidence.

Unresolved civil legal issues are a hidden barrier to stability. Someone at a transition point may not know who can help.Nebraska WithCounsel believes that legal help works best when it reaches people through relationships they already trust. A single conversation with a legal professional can change the trajectory of someone's situation.

Built to work alongside existing programs

WithCounsel services complement the work of community-based organizations, not replace or compete with it. We embed legal services in spaces where people already go for support, so legal help is accessible without requiring them to navigate a separate system.

We work hand in hand with an organization's staff. Staff are often the first to recognize when a participant's situation has a legal dimension, and they can make a warm handoff directly to WithCounsel, sharing helpful background so the participant doesn't have to start over. Participants can also connect with us directly during our scheduled time at a partner site.

Help more people find a way forward

Many people facing a legal problem never get help at all. They can't afford an attorney, don't qualify for existing legal programs, or simply don't know where to start. When legal help is available inside a program they already trust, that changes.
